Since August 1st 2018 “Rocky”, a real T. rex skeleton, is exhibited permanently at the Dinosaur Museum. “Rocky” is a peculiarity among dinosaurs, as it is the first Tyrannosaurus rex ever to be found, which died still in its teens. The skeleton is unusually well preserved. It provides us with insights into the way of life of the prehistoric giants at the end of the Cretaceous period 66 million years ago. In his short lifetime, he has survived quite some adventures, as evidenced by frightening bite marks on his bones. The T. rex skeleton was found in 1998 by private fossil hunters. “Rocky” can now be seen in the Dinosaur Museum Altmühltal – you cannot get any closer to one of these gigantic originals from the age of dinosaurs!
